HERE’S THE BLURB
ART IN THE ARTHOUSE presents “SOMETHING ABOUT MARY,” stunning oil paintings from iconclast artist and ANDY WARHOL Factory Cult Queen — Mary Woronov.
As an actress, writer, and painter, MARY WORONOV creates works that are mired in story and allegory wedded to narrative. A veteran of the ANDY WARHOL Factory scene, she performed with VELVET UNDERGROUND and THE EXPLODING PLASTIC INEVITABLE. Roger Corman, Andy Warhol, Paul Bartel all have utilized her gifts as an artist and a performer.
In Woronov’s paintings. there is friction, conflict, betrayal, a blistering sexual tension, and sometimes even a lingering desperation. There is no reprieve from the drama. We are instead offered a new heightened version of reality flooded with irony and injustice. The work is unapologetic and carries quite a sting — especially to the uninitiated or complacent.
By her own choice Wornov has not exhibited paintings in many years. She works steadily and creates new figurative works at her Los Angeles atelier. Art in the Arthouse is pleased to present Something About Mary, opening Sept. 9 and contuing through mid-December.

Bought Bad Luck from this exhibition.
It’s been a lot of places because we move fairly often. I’m renovating a place in Historic New Castle DE and increased a wall width by six inches to accommodate her.
Still like to look at it.
